lake tahoe, california

Tahoe is one of my favorite places in the world. I grew up going up to Tahoe in both the winters and summers, as it's only about an hour from Roseville where I'm from. Now, living in San Francisco, Tahoe is still the perfect getaway, only just over 3 hours away. It's one of those unique destinations that's actually equally amazing in both winters and summers and has something for everyone.

In the summers, you have the lake, boating, camping, water sports, hiking, mountain biking, and more. In the winters, you have snow sports like skiing and snowboarding, as well as snowshoeing, tubing, aprés ski, hot tubs in the snow, and cozy cabins! Like I said, you can't go wrong visiting Tahoe in either season.

This year, our friends planned a fun trip up to Tahoe during January, and it was absolutely gorgeous! It was snowing, so the snowboarders and skiers were happy with the fresh powder, and those who stayed behind to snowshoe (like me) were happy with the pretty photo opps! 😊
