diy ombre bath salts

GUYS - IT'S ALMOST GALENTINE'S DAY! What are you doing with your girl friends Monday to celebrate? For those of you who don't know what Galentine's Day (2/13) is, you really need to watch Parks and Recreation on Netflix. "It's only the best day of the year... Ladies celebrating ladies!" My friends are going to grab drinks at a new spot in San Francisco!

Every Valentine's Day season, I love to do pretty pink, purple, and red crafts. It's always a great excuse to decorate or do a DIY project! Here's a super easy craft you can make for your favorite girl friends this year: ombre bath salts. It's cost friendly, doesn't require a ton of ingredients, and looks gorgeous! Here's how to do it:

bath salt recipe

diy bath salts

  • One part sea salt

  • One part epsom salt

  • Food coloring (I used pink and purple)

  • Vanilla extract or (essential oils of your choice)

  • Mason jars of your choice

  • Heart stickers (optional)

  1. Mix the sea salt, epsom salt and extract/essential oils together in a large bowl.

  2. Distribute to separate bowls for each layer of the ombre.

  3. Add in food coloring, but use less and less in each bowl so each color is a lighter shade than the one before.

  4. The food coloring can get clumpy so make sure it gets stirred in really well and evenly.

  5. Pour a layer of each color into the mason jar to create the ombre look!

  6. Give them to your favorite gal pals!
